Daily Post Social Club Incorporated is the responsible entity for Commonroom Edition, an Android application. This policy explains the app's data practices and applies to version 1.0.0 and later versions unless a replacement policy states otherwise.

This policy is effective from 12 August 2026. It covers the installed Android app. Websites opened outside the app are governed by their own operators and policies.

Commonroom Edition is intended as a general social-gathering planning guide for adults. It is not designed as a child-directed service, school platform, membership system, or channel for communication with minors.

An organizer, facilitator, parent, guardian, venue operator, or other responsible adult remains responsible for participant supervision, accessibility, consent, transport, venue rules, and safeguarding decisions.

The app provides conversation prompts, small-group activity guidance, general Rotorua-area outing preparation, hosting checklists, participation boundaries, public reference links, and a private three-item planning aid.

The content is an editorial field guide. It does not announce live events, confirm organization programmes, register participants, sell tickets, accept donations, provide navigation, or deliver emergency alerts.

The app does not collect or transmit personal data to Daily Post Social Club Incorporated or to an app-operated server. The Android manifest does not request Internet access or any dangerous permission.

The app does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, contacts, photographs, audio, precise or approximate location, calendar entries, payment information, membership records, health information, attendance, incident reports, or free-text user submissions.

When a user bookmarks an activity or builds Table Notes, the app stores only a bounded set of numeric activity identifiers and up to three selected plan slots in Android private preferences on that device.

The app does not ask the user to name a plan, identify participants, enter notes, or describe a personal situation. Local choices are used only to display bookmarks and the three-part plan on the device.

Commonroom Edition is deliberately not a place to record medical information, disability details, dietary diagnoses, safeguarding concerns, youth information, staff information, attendance, transport arrangements, emergency contacts, or incident details.

The app provides no free-text field, media upload, participant profile, messaging function, or youth record. Organizers must use an authorized and appropriately protected process outside the app when legitimate records are required.

The app requests no Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, notification, phone, SMS, Bluetooth, nearby-device, health, biometric, or external-storage permission.

A user can explicitly tap a Source Desk link to ask Android to open an external web browser. The external browser, not Commonroom Edition, handles that network request.

The app has no account, login, registration, password, membership credential, cloud profile, or server-side user record. Account deletion is therefore not applicable.

Deleting local choices is described in Section 13. Removing the app does not cancel any real-world membership, booking, subscription, or relationship because the app does not create them.

The app contains no advertising, AdMob, analytics, crash-reporting service, tracking pixel, attribution SDK, social SDK, remote configuration, telemetry client, or third-party behavioural profiling library.

The app does not sell advertising space, build an advertising profile, use cross-app tracking, or send engagement measurements to the publisher.

Because the app does not transmit user data to the publisher, it does not share, disclose, sell, rent, or trade app user data with third parties.

Content displayed in the app is bundled with the installation. Source links identify public authorities for further reading and do not mean those authorities sponsor, endorse, operate, or receive data from the app.

Source Desk links are optional. When a user selects one, Android may transfer the destination URL to an installed browser or another compatible app. Commonroom Edition does not add a user identifier, plan content, bookmark state, or tracking parameter to those URLs.

External sites may collect network and usage information under their own policies. Users should review the destination and its privacy information before continuing. The app does not verify live availability, content, weather, route access, or accessibility of an external site.

Numeric bookmarks and plan-slot choices remain in Android private app storage until the user resets them, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the app. The app does not impose a remote retention period because no app-operated server copy exists.

A user may keep or remove local choices at any time. The publisher cannot retrieve, restore, or delete a device copy remotely.

Users can delete all bookmarks and Table Notes by choosing Reset all local choices in the app. They can also use Android system settings to clear app storage or uninstall the app.

Android backup and device-transfer extraction are disabled for Commonroom Edition, including its private preferences. Device vendors and operating-system behaviour remain outside the publisher's direct control.

The app reduces privacy risk by avoiding accounts, network access, personal-data entry, broad permissions, advertising SDKs, analytics, cloud storage, external files, and backups. Local choices are stored in the app's private Android storage area.

No device storage method can guarantee absolute security. Anyone who can unlock the device or obtain privileged access may be able to view app state. Users should use device security appropriate to their circumstances and avoid treating the app as a secure record system.

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information. It has no child profile, chat, follower system, public posting, precise-location feature, attendance register, or adult-to-child messaging channel.

If adults adapt an activity for a setting where minors are present, an authorized adult must choose age-appropriate content, obtain required consent, supervise the activity, follow applicable safeguarding procedures, and use an authorized process for any necessary records.

The app offers general educational preparation prompts. It is not medical, mental-health, dietary, first-aid, accessibility-assessment, weather-warning, navigation, emergency, legal, or professional advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or predict any condition or outcome.

Users and organizers must check current authoritative information, venue rules, access conditions, forecasts, warnings, participant needs, and qualified advice. In New Zealand, call 111 when immediate emergency assistance is required.

If a future app version changes its data practices or adds a network feature, this policy must be updated before that feature is released. A revised policy will identify a new effective date and describe the material change.

Users choose whether to save local selections, open an external source, reset app state, clear storage, or uninstall the app. Continued use after a policy update does not remove rights provided by applicable law.
